Student Success Center

Located on the first floor of the Noel Memorial Library, the Student Success Center is a one-stop shop for students looking to learn and grow in all areas of their academic life. The Success Center offers free peer-to-peer tutoring and 24/7 online tutoring, academic coaching, and workshops. The SSC staff can help you develop positive study habits, prep for an exam, or learn how to better manage your time and the pressures of college life. 

  • Piloting Your Success - Because the second year of college has increased academic, development and social demands, PYS is an initiative aimed at sophomore-level students to help them establish their identity and re-evaluate their purpose and collegiate experience.
  • Peer Educators
  • NSLS (National Society of Leadership and Success) - The NSLS is an honor society helping college students create the lives they desire by strengthening their leadership skills, helping them discover their passion and setting them up to achieve their goals.   
  • SSC Leadership Summit -  A 2-day summer leadership course hosted by the Student Success Center at LSUS.
  • Tutoring - The SSC offers face-to-face tutoring with certified tutors by appointment and free online tutoring via TutorMe 24/7.(Students receive 6 hours of free tutoring via TutorMe.)
  • Supplement Instruction - SI is a peer-assisted study session led by a trained SI leader. These are conducted in groups. The schedule can be found on the SSC page of Moodle. 
  • Academic Support Workshop - Academic Support Workshops are designed to provide students with academic and life skills. Various workshops are offered throughout the semester. 
  • Academic Coaching - Academic Coaching is designed to help students set goals, establish effective strategies, maintain focus and remove barriers to success. This service is a one-on-one session offered to undergraduate, graduate and online students. 
  • Peer Educators - Peer educators provide appropriate support to students by providing useful information, academic training, and campus and community resources to their peers.  Additionally, they create and implement campus programming to aid in the development of leadership skills.
