Biography

Dr. Ahmad Taninah is an Assistant Professor of Physics at LSUS, joining the department in Fall 2023. His research focuses on computational nuclear physics. Dr. Taninah is passionate about using active learning techniques in his teaching, particularly in introductory physics courses. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and staying active through regular exercise.

Dr. Ahmad Taninah’s research covers computational nuclear physics and experimental data analysis, offering students an opportunity to engage deeply in one of these exciting fields. His work with Covariant Density Functional Theory (CDFT) focuses on exploring the properties of exotic nuclei and predicting their behavior under extreme conditions, using high-performance computing for large-scale simulations that advance nuclear modeling.

Dr. Taninah is also involved in data analysis from the DANCE facility at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he studies neutron capture reactions and gamma-ray emissions to better understand nuclear dynamics.

Students working with Dr. Taninah can choose to engage in either cutting-edge computational simulations or experimental data analysis, gaining valuable skills in their chosen area and contributing to important advancements in nuclear science.
