Academic Eligibility

Official academic records must be received by the University no later than 30 days prior to the start of your program. This includes:

  1. Official transcripts from all US tertiary/higher education institutions attended;

  2. Official course-by-course international credential evaluation sent directly from a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or the Association of International Credentials Evaluators; and

  3. Official international medical credential evaluations sent directly from either the Federation Credentials Verification Service or the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.

  • Color copy of US residency visa, green card, or I-797 approval, if resident in the United States

GRADUATE REQUIREMENTS

    • TOEFL
      • 550+ on PBT
      • 80+ on iBT
    • IELTS – 6.5+ overall, with 6.0+ in each component
    • PTE – 53+ overall
    • Duolingo – 105+ overall

Some applicants may be exempt from English proficiency requirements if they:

  • Earned a US high school diploma or any degree from an accredited US tertiary/higher education institution
  • Have a 2.5 overall GPA with 30 credit hours of university-level coursework at a regionally accredited US higher education institution, to include one non-remedial course each in Mathematics and English, or two consecutive non-remedial English courses
  • Have held an H1B visa for 3+ years, or are exempted due to another listed condition; H1B visa holders not holding a US education credential or not from one of the English waiver countries listed below must provide proof of three (3) years' work experience resident in the US by submitting: 1. Current resume/CV, AND 2. Copy of H1B visa(s)
  • Are a national of or completed secondary or tertiary education in a country where English is the official primary language of instruction (some departments or degree programs may still require English proficiency tests or an additional interview): Anguilla; Antigua and Barbuda; Australia; The Bahamas; Barbados; Belize; British Virgin Islands; Canada; Cayman Islands; Dominica; Ghana; Gibraltar; Grenada; Guyana; Ireland; Jamaica; Kenya; Lesotho; Malta; Mauritius; Montserrat; New Zealand; Nigeria; Seychelles; Singapore; South Africa; St Kitts and Nevis; St Lucia; St Vincent and the Grenadines; Trinidad and Tobago; Turks and Caicos Islands; Uganda; United Kingdom; Zambia; Zimbabwe.

All international credentials for admission* must be in the form of a course-by-course evaluation completed by an approved evaluation agency. Evaluations must come directly to the LSUS Admissions Office from a current member of one of the following professional organizations:
