This event aims to bridge the gap between high school and college for students who will be the first in their families to attend college.
Rising Scholars First Gen Success Program
One-year program for new first-year, first-gen students; by invitation only
Includes financial awards, mentor/coach, coaching sessions every two weeks, special events, dedicated incentives, and special recognitions
National First Gen College Celebration Day/Week
November 8th each year

Teal identity cords honoring any graduating first gen student
Provided at each commencement ceremony at no cost to students

Open to undergraduate students with at least 30 hours and minimum GPA of 3.2

Open to first gen faculty/staff currently employed at LSUS
Open to first gen alumni by special invitation
