How can I check which transcripts LSUS has received?

Log into myLSUS with your student ID and PIN. Click “Records” in the yellow bar at the top of the page and select “Display Transcripts Received Info” from the drop down list.

What score do I need on the GRE?

GRE requirements vary by program. Please see admission requirements for individual programs.

Do I have to take the GMAT? Should I submit a resume?

For MBA and MHA applicants only:
If your overall GPA is between 2.5-2.99, you will need to submit either of the following pieces of documentation:

  • Resume proving you possess at least three years of professional work experience OR
  • Minimum GMAT score of 450, and a minimum score of 1000 based on the following formula: GMAT score plus (200 x overall Undergraduate GPA)

Please send either one to admissions@lsus.edu, and it will be forwarded with your packet to the program director for review.

Which international evaluations are acceptable at LSUS?

All foreign credentials must be submitted in English to the Office of Admissions and Records using a member organization of one of the following two national associations of credential evaluation services:

I was accepted into a graduate program at LSUS, but I never attended. What do I need to do to start taking classes?

First you must update your desired start date. Next, you must submit any transcripts from schools you have attended since your original application to LSUS.

How do I change my application term?

To update your application term, follow these steps: 

  1. Go to https://apply.lsus.edu/
  2. Click “Sign In.”
    • Your username is the personal email address used on your previous application.
    • Your password can be reset by clicking “Forgot Password.”
  3. Log in.
  4. Click “Start Application.”
  5. Follow the prompts to add an application for the new term of your choosing.

What are the admissions requirements if I already hold a Master’s or Doctorate degree?

Graduate student applicants who do possess a graduate degree previously earned from a university accredited by the proper regional association and a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) on all graduate work attempted are eligible for unconditional admission to graduate study without regard to undergraduate GPA. Graduate student applicants are still required to submit undergraduate transcripts with any undergraduate work and undergraduate conferment date.

How many of my graduate courses will transfer from other universities?

For a Master’s degree, a maximum of 6 semester hours of graduate credit with grades of B or higher may be transferred from another regionally accredited institution with the approval of the graduate Program Director. However, the MBA program in the College of Business does not accept transfer or transient credit. All required courses must be taken from the LSUS MBA program. If graduate courses were taken at another university, they will not be applied to the LSUS MBA program.

For the Doctoral degree, a maximum of 12 semester hours of graduate credit with grades of B or higher may be transferred from another regionally accredited institution with the approval of the EdD Program Director.

Who is my Program Director and/or Graduate Coordinator?

Find your program director and/or graduate coordinator.

For many graduate programs, the graduate coordinator is the primary academic advisor.

How to appeal a denial?

Applicants denied admission but having a 2.00 - 2.49 undergraduate GPA on a 4.0 scale may appeal through the appropriate Graduate Program Director and Dean for admission. An appeal must include a letter of appeal and a professional résumé. GMAT/GRE scores or letters of recommendation may be requested. Recommendations will be submitted to the Graduate Dean for final approval. Non-degree-seeking students are not eligible to appeal.

What happens if I am declared ineligible or placed on academic suspension?

  • Students in the College of Arts & Sciences must appeal to the Dean of Graduate Studies along with two letters of support.
  • Students in the College of Business placed on first suspension will be eligible for reenrollment after sitting out two sessions. This does not apply to students with a grade of F who will have to obtain letters of support from the program director and the college dean before appealing to the Dean of Graduate Studies. Those placed on final suspension are ineligible to continue in their current program.
  • Students in the College of Education and Human Development placed on first suspension will be eligible for reenrollment after sitting out two sessions or one semester. Readmission is not automatic. Students on first suspension will have to appeal to the program director. Individual programs have additional restrictions. Those placed on final suspension are ineligible to continue in their current program.
