2+2 Healthcare Pathway
Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
Start your degree at LSUS and finish your degree at LSU Health Shreveport. Choose your concentration and prepare for a high-demand career in healthcare.
LSUS has partnered with LSU Health Shreveport to offer 2+2 healthcare pathway programs, allowing students to be well-prepared for sought-after careers in the medical field.
Why Choose the 2+2 Healthcare Pathway Program?
Students can complete the first two years of their bachelor’s degree at LSUS, then finish their last two years of their degree at LSU Health Shreveport. By meeting certain criteria, LSUS students are guaranteed admission to the LSUHSC Shreveport School of Allied Health Professions.
How Does the 2+2 Program Work?
To complete the 2+2 Healthcare Pathway Program, students must apply to LSUS and complete the first 60-65 credits of the Bachelor of General Studies program with a concentration in Natural Science. Then, students can transfer to LSU Health Shreveport to complete their degree in one of three concentrations: Cardiopulmonary Science, Cardiovascular Technology, or Medical Laboratory Science.
Guaranteed Admission to LSU Health Shreveport
LSUS students who complete the first half of the 2+2 Healthcare Pathways Program are guaranteed admission to LSU Health Shreveport if they: (1) achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale)*; (2) attend all required workshops; and (3) submit a reference letter to LSU Health Shreveport from a designated LSUS college advisor.
*If your GPA is between 2.5 and 3.19, you may still be considered for admission on a competitive basis.
