Research Interests
With 25 years of leadership in multiple industries before joining academia (including defense, energy, engineering, education, and technology), my research tends to be based on management questions I faced throughout my career. My dissertation was on the micro effects of CSR and transformational leadership on individual employees, and most of my research since then has been in the micro side of entrepreneurship, including topics such as the positive individual outcomes from perceptions of purpose, franchise/franchisee fit, the contextualization of social entrepreneurship training, entrepreneurial self-efficacy among veterans, and the positive social spillover effects of entrepreneurship. I prefer quantitative research that leverages structural equation modeling and various regression methods.
