                            Biography
Jewel Thomas holds a Bachelor of General Studies degree with a concentration in Social Sciences (2023) from Louisiana State University Shreveport. While studying at LSUS, she participated in the university’s esteemed debate team, winning multiple awards including a Louisiana State Championship. She credits her time in debate as being integral to her personal and professional development.
 
 During the 2023-2024 school year, she took on the role of English Teaching Assistant in La Rioja, Spain, where she sharpened her Spanish skills while supporting primary and secondary school students in their journey of learning about the English language and culture.
 
 Now she has returned to serve as Academic Advisor for the College of Education and Human Development, where she supports students through their first 60 credit hours. She also offers two crochet courses through LSUS Continuing Education.
 
 Beyond her professional roles, Ms. Thomas enjoys reading, attending weekly crochet groups and exercise classes, and honing her creative skills through writing, crafting, and baking.
