SHREVEPORT – One year to the day, LSU Shreveport baseball fans can relive the perfect season with a social media rollout of a mini-documentary.
On Saturday at 5 p.m., fans can tune into LSUS and LSUS Athletics social media accounts on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook to watch the 15-minute documentary titled “Impossible Season.”
The Pilots put the exclamation mark on the first-ever perfect season in college baseball history with its 13-7 comeback win against Southeastern (Fla.) to claim the NAIA World Series. The comeback happened on May 30, 2025, securing LSUS’s 59-0 record and the university’s first ever national championship in a sanctioned NAIA sport.
Melissa Goslin, LSUS alumnus and one of the top directors at the 2025 Louisiana Film Prize, spearheaded the documentary in conjunction with PrizeFest founder Gregory Kallenberg.
The documentary features insight from LSUS baseball players and coaches as well as local figures like former MLB infielder Todd Walker and Shreveport-Bossier Advocate sportswriter Roy Lang III.
The project dives into how the team was formed, when they first thought a “zero” in the loss column was actually possible, and how they both embraced and distanced themselves from the possibility of perfect.
