HAUGHTON – Looking for a fun way to enjoy cooler temperatures while supporting Shreveport’s only public four-year university?
Hit the links at the LSUS Golf Classic on Oct. 4 at the Olde Oaks Golf Club in Haughton.
Participate in a four-person scramble on the course while soaking up time with LSUS alumni, officials and student-athletes.
This year’s golf event is the first tournament that involves entities from across campus.
“This is an exciting time for the University,” said LSUS athletics director Lucas Morgan. “For the first time ever, we are hosting a golf tournament for the entire campus and not just a single department.
“This shows the growth and development of LSUS and what continues to set us apart from other universities. This will be an exciting day, and we are looking forward to seeing our alumni, our supporters, and community members.”
Four-person teams can sign up for $500 with individual golfer slots available at $125. Teams and individuals must register in advance on or before the Oct. 1 deadline.
The event has entertainment for golfers and non-golfers alike with a party zone, live DJ, food (lunch and dinner) and drinks.
Aside from a round of golf, golfers can participate in various contests such as putting, longest drive, hole-in-one, and designated hole games.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available until Sept. 30.
“Whether decision-makers are interested in promoting a business or treating their team to a day of golf, we have a wide range of sponsorship opportunities available,” said Jazmin Jernigan, LSUS director of the alumni affairs. “This tournament is not only a chance to enjoy a great game but also to contribute to the future success of our university and its students.”
All proceeds benefit LSUS students and alumni.
