Louisiana State University Shreveport Police Department (LSUS PD) provides law enforcement services and emergency response for the campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The department is staffed by armed, commissioned officers who serve and protect students, faculty, staff, and visitors. LSUS PD also maintains the university's Emergency Procedures Guide, issues parking permits, and enforces campus parking regulations. We strongly encourage all students, faculty, and staff to save the LSUS Police Department phone numbers in their mobile phones so they can be reached quickly in the event of an emergency. For questions or additional information, please contact LSUS Police Lieutenant at 318-795-4209 or via email at police@lsus.edu.

All crimes should be reported to law enforcement as soon as possible, as timely reporting is essential to campus safety. If reporting directly to law enforcement is not possible, students should report the incident to the Dean of Students, the Division of Student Affairs, Student Development and Counseling, or a trusted faculty or staff member.

Clery Compliance and the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

The LSUS Police Department houses the Clery Compliance Office, which is responsible for coordinating the university's compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (also known as the Clery Act). The Clery Compliance Office collects and reviews reports of crimes that meet definitions established by the Clery Act and occur within the university’s Clery geography, which is detailed in the LSUS Clery Map. A full list of definitions established by the Clery Act can be found on the Clery Crime Definitions page.

Information is submitted through Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) using the CSA Reporting Form, as well as local law enforcement agencies, and other reporting sources. The office ensures compliance with federal crime reporting requirements and publishes the university’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR). The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report contains Clery crime statistics, campus safety policies, fire safety information, and other disclosures required under federal law.
